NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 24 — President William Ruto arrived in Namibia on Satuday for the funeral of late President Hage Gaingob.

Ruto is among 18 Heads of State attending a memorial event at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek ahead of the State Funeral on Sunday.

The Burial Service and wreath laying will take place at the Heroes’ Acre monument.

Geingob, a veteran of Namibian politics, was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and died on February 4 while undergoing treatment.

For a record 33 years, Geingob had served as Namibia’s top politician.

He succumbed in his second term as President and having served as as prime minister for 15 years.
