Calvo Mistari and Naiboi have joined forces to release “The Prize”, a brand-new single under their innovative publishing imprint Room 308.

The track is the fourth single off their highly anticipated album ‘308’, following the smashing success of their previous collaborations: “Rudisha” “, All My Dreams” and “Zama”.

“The Prize” seamlessly blends heartfelt lyrics with an infectious groove, delivering a signature Kenyan sound that is both emotionally resonant and rhythmically captivating.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, Calvo Mistari said: “We wanted to make a song where the message will resonate and the vibe could still be in a groove for such a beat. Dillie and the team did well”.

Adding to the sentiment, Naiboi said: “Something different for the season of Love. The instrumentalists played with heart on this record. Good music is always from us.”

Conceptualised by Calvo Mistari and directed by Prvk, the dance visual translates the song’s spirit into compelling, movement-driven storytelling. Choreography led by Chao of acclaimed dance group The Lunas brings the record to life through a dynamic, expressive performance.

The song was produced by acclaimed hitmaker Dillie, who said: “‘The Prize’ is a rich, sonically layered track that brings together live instrumentation, smooth vocal textures and an undeniable bounce. The production features lead guitar by Benjamin Kabaseke, bass guitar by Sedar Malaki and background vocals by Syd125 and Amileena, resulting in a full-bodied sound rooted in Kenyan musicality with global appeal.”

Producer Dillie also hints at what’s ahead, “We’re working on an album that’s going to sonically sound Kenyan and global, as that’s the direction Calvo Mistari & Naiboi are taking their sound.”

The track that layers smooth guitars, melodic basslines and rich harmonies, is a celebration of love, connection and shared moments. With its catchy hooks and thoughtful lyrics, “The Prize” invites listeners to dance, reflect and feel, making it an ideal anthem for the season of love and beyond.

“The Prize” marks an exciting new chapter for Calvo Mistari and Naiboi as collaborators. Through this song and their upcoming album, the duo is crafting a body of work that reflects both cultural pride and international ambition.

The two first teamed up for their 2021 hit “Situation”, and over the past decade, they’ve become some of Kenya’s most influential music creators.
